Pionex Card – Feature Overview

Pionex Card daily use: moving funds from Primary account to Payment account on App and Web, plus Auto Transfer threshold. Covers failed transfers, missing SMS payment codes, merchant binding, supported crypto, refunds, ATM PIN lockout.

This article guides you on how to spend with the Pionex Card, manage your card, and maintain card security. The main sections covered are:

Fund Transfer

Since the Pionex Card is a separate account, you need to transfer funds from your main Pionex account to your Card account. To do this:

APP

Step 1: Tap [Wallet] in the bottom navigation bar.

Step 2: On the Wallet page, tap [Card] in the top right corner.

Step 3: On the card page, tap [Deposit].

Step 4: From the menu that appears, select [Transfer] (Transfer between Main and Payment accounts).

Step 5: Confirm the transfer direction (Primary AccountPayment Account) and enter the amount, or tap [All] to transfer the full balance.

Step 6: Tap [Transfer] to confirm.

Tip: You can also transfer in the reverse direction — from Card Account to Payment Account — by switching the "From" account on the Transfer page.

Note: You can also tap [Deposit] to fund your Visa card directly via on-chain deposit.

WEB

Step 1: Go to the Pionex website and click [Card][Personal Card] at the top of the page.

Step 2: On the card page, click [Transfer].

Step 3: Enter the amount to transfer or click [All] to transfer the full balance.

Step 4: Click [OK] to process.

*Note: Transferring to the Card account is equivalent to a withdrawal operation; security verification may be requested.

Auto Transfer

Auto Transfer is a card funding feature that helps ensure your Pionex Card always has enough balance to make payments. When your Pay Account balance drops below a threshold you set, the system will automatically transfer a specified amount from your linked funding sources — so your card stays ready to use without manual top-ups.

App:

Step 1: Open the Pionex App and navigate to the [Wallet] [Card] page.

Step 2: Tap [More] and select [Auto Transfer] from the options.

Step 3: Set up the "Auto Transfer Rule Settings" and the "Auto Transfer Deduction Order Settings".

Step 4: Tap [Enable Auto Transfer] and complete the "Security Authentication" process.

Web:

Step 1: Go to the Pionex website and click [Card][Personal Card] at the top of the page.

Step 2: On the card page, click [Auto Transfer].

Step 3: Set up the "Auto Transfer Rule Settings" and the "Auto Transfer Deduction Order Settings".

Step 4: Tap [Enable Auto Transfer] to complete the process.

Once configured, set your preferred trigger balance and transfer amount. You can also customize the deduction order across multiple funding sources, including your Primary Account and any active Arbitrage products.

Note:
1. Once enabled, the system will automatically transfer the preset amount and debit order (priority).

2. Ensure your funding account has a sufficient balance to avoid transfer failures.

3. If a transfer fails due to insufficient balance or risk control measures, the system will automatically disable the feature and notify you.

If you wish to disable the Auto Transfer function, you can simply click [Disable Auto Transfer] on the Auto Transfer settings page.

Online Payments

Before using the Pionex Card for online purchases, verify that the merchant accepts Visa. To view your card information:

APP

Step 1: Open the Pionex App and navigate to the [Wallet] [Card] page.

Step 2: Click [Card Details] and select [Card Details] again.

Step 3: Complete the "Security Authentication", and you can see the card number, expiration date, and CVV code.

WEB

Step 1: Go to the Pionex website and click [Card][Personal Card] at the top of the page.

Step 2: On the card page, click [Card Details].

Step 3: Click the [Card Details] again.

Step 4: Complete the verification.

Step 5: You're able to see the card number, expiration date, and CVV code now.

Reminder: Keep your card information safe to avoid security risks.

When you input your card information during checkout, the system starts the Pionex Verify payment security verification process to ensure secure transactions. For details, please refer to: What is Security Authentication?

Offline Payments

Pionex's physical card is currently being rolled out in phases. If you're eligible, you'll be able to view it in the app or on our website. You can link your Pionex Card to the following major mobile wallets for offline spending:

  • Apple Pay

  • Google Pay

  • Line Pay

  • Paypal

  • Alipay

  • Alipay HK

  • Wechat Pay

These wallets support Visa contactless payments at stores like convenience stores, cafés, and department stores. Refer to the Digital Wallet Setup Instructions for linking instructions.

Card Freeze & Unfreeze

If you suspect your card information has been compromised or misused, you can freeze the card immediately within the app:

APP

Step 1: Open the Pionex App and navigate to the [Wallet] [Card] page.

Step 2: Tap [More] and select [Freeze] from the options.

Step 3: Select a freeze reason and click [Confirm].

WEB

Step 1: Go to the Pionex website and click [Card][Personal Card] at the top of the page.

Step 2: On the card page, click [Freeze].

Step 3: Select a freeze reason and click [OK].

*Merchants may still attempt to initiate charges (e.g., auto-renewals, system retries) even if a card is frozen. Please note that even though the payment fails, constant authorization attempts may still incur failure processing fees due to the repeated order rejects. Please contact the merchants to remove card binding and subscription to avoid this issue.

Unfreeze

How you can unfreeze the card depends on how it was frozen:

  • You froze it yourself (self-service freeze): You can unfreeze the card yourself at any time in the app/website, by completing security verification.

  • Pionex Risk Control froze it (e.g., during a fraud/risk investigation): Self-service unfreezing is not available for this type of freeze. Please contact Pionex Customer Support.

FAQ

Q: Why might a fund transfer fail?
A: Since it is treated as a withdrawal from the Pionex primary account, common issues include:
1. Funds being occupied (e.g., in open orders, Earn products, active bots)
2. Fiat deposit T+N restrictions
3. Account Safety and Compliance limitations

Q: What if I don't receive the SMS code for payment verification?
A: You can switch the payment security verification method to "In-app Authorization", and future verifications will be received as notifications in the app.

Q: How do I check if my Pionex Card has been successfully bound to a merchant?
A: You may follow the path below on your Pionex App to check on the binding status. Once approved, the card has been bound to the merchant.
APP: Pionex → More → Pionex Card → Digital Token

Q: What is the crypto supported in the Pionex Card?
A: The Pionex Card only accepts USDT transfer from the primary account balance.

Q: How long is my Pionex Card (Visa) valid for?
A: The Visa card is valid for approximately 5 years from issuance. The exact expiration date is shown on the physical/virtual card (Card Details page). Once it expires you will need a new card, which is requested through the card deletion and reapplication form — see How to Apply for Pionex Card Deletion. Reapplication is a separate request that is reviewed on its own and is not granted automatically.

Q: My card has expired — is that the same as my bank card expiring?

A: No, these are two different cards. The validity period above belongs to the Pionex Card itself. If the card that expired is your own bank card — the one you use to buy crypto on Pionex — then the Pionex Card's validity period does not apply to it: your issuing bank replaces that card, and you can buy crypto again with the new one. See FAQ about Buying Crypto with a Bank Card.

Q: If I book a hotel with Pionex Card and the transaction is initially a pre-authorization/pre-payment that's later refunded after cancellation, does the refunded amount count against my daily or monthly spending limit?

A: No. Once the refund is successful, the corresponding spending limit is restored and does not count against your daily or monthly limit.

Since refunds are processed by third parties such as the acquirer and issuing bank, whether the limit is restored while the refund is still in progress or only once it's fully completed depends on the actual refund process, and Pionex cannot guarantee a fixed timeframe. We recommend checking your real-time available limit in the Pionex Card app for the most accurate status.

Q: Where can I find my Pionex Card (Visa Card)'s billing address?
A: Go to Pionex → Pionex Card → Card Details, complete verification, and your billing address will be shown along with the billing address, card number, expiry date, and CVV.

Q: Will the details of a refunded transaction appear on my monthly statement?

A: Yes, they will. You can view all transaction details, including refunds, by downloading your monthly statement through the app. Please note that Pionex Card transaction details are not included in the CSV transaction history export at this time.

APP: Wallet > Card > Visa > More > Monthly Statement > Select Month > Confirm

Q: Why unable to withdraw from ATM using my Pionex physical card?
A: If the ATM screen displays an error message such as "The associated bank does not support interbank withdrawal services", this is typically because the ATM machine you are using does not support cross-bank withdrawals for Visa international cards — this is not an issue with your card itself.

We recommend the following solution:

  • Please switch to a different ATM machine that displays the VISA logo and try again

Q: My physical card got stuck in an ATM after entering the wrong PIN multiple times. What should I do?
A: Please follow the steps below:

- Contact the bank or institution that owns the ATM directly, explain the situation, and request the return of your card. This must be handled by the local bank — if any cooperation is needed, please reach out to Pionex Customer Support.

- The ATM PIN lockout is a security mechanism enforced by the Visa network and the card issuer. If you need to unlock or reset your PIN, please contact Pionex Customer Support.
