This article guides you on how to spend with the Pionex Card, manage your card, and maintain card security. The main sections covered are:
Fund Transfer
Since the Pionex Card is a separate account, you need to transfer funds from your main Pionex account to your Card account. To do this:
APP
Step 1: Tap [Wallet] in the bottom navigation bar.
Step 2: On the Wallet page, tap [Card] in the top right corner.
Step 3: On the card page, tap [Deposit].
Step 4: From the menu that appears, select [Transfer] (Transfer between Main and Payment accounts).
Step 5: Confirm the transfer direction (Primary Account → Payment Account) and enter the amount, or tap [All] to transfer the full balance.
Step 6: Tap [Transfer] to confirm.
Tip: You can also transfer in the reverse direction — from Card Account to Payment Account — by switching the "From" account on the Transfer page.
Note: You can also tap [Deposit] to fund your Visa card directly via on-chain deposit.
WEB
Step 1: Go to the Pionex website and click [Card] → [Personal Card] at the top of the page.
Step 2: On the card page, click [Transfer].
Step 3: Enter the amount to transfer or click [All] to transfer the full balance.
Step 4: Click [OK] to process.
*Note: Transferring to the Card account is equivalent to a withdrawal operation; security verification may be requested.
Transfer History
To view your past transfers between your Primary Account and Payment Account, go to the Transfer page and tap the clock icon in the top-right corner.
Path: Pionex Card → Deposit → Transfer → clock icon (top-right corner)
Auto Transfer
Auto Transfer is a card funding feature that helps ensure your Pionex Card always has enough balance to make payments. When your Pay Account balance drops below a threshold you set, the system will automatically transfer a specified amount from your linked funding sources — so your card stays ready to use without manual top-ups.
App:
Step 1: Open the Pionex App and navigate to the [Wallet] → [Card] page.
Step 2: Tap [More] and select [Auto Transfer] from the options.
Step 3: Set up the "Auto Transfer Rule Settings" and the "Auto Transfer Deduction Order Settings".
Step 4: Tap [Enable Auto Transfer] and complete the "Security Authentication" process.
Web:
Step 1: Go to the Pionex website and click [Card] → [Personal Card] at the top of the page.
Step 2: On the card page, click [Auto Transfer].
Step 3: Set up the "Auto Transfer Rule Settings" and the "Auto Transfer Deduction Order Settings".
Step 4: Tap [Enable Auto Transfer] to complete the process.
Once configured, set your preferred trigger balance and transfer amount. You can also customize the deduction order across multiple funding sources, including your Primary Account and any active Arbitrage products.
Note:
1. Once enabled, the system will automatically transfer the preset amount and debit order (priority).
2. Ensure your funding account has a sufficient balance to avoid transfer failures.
3. If a transfer fails due to insufficient balance or risk control measures, the system will automatically disable the feature and notify you.
If you wish to disable the Auto Transfer function, you can simply click [Disable Auto Transfer] on the Auto Transfer settings page.
Online Payments
Before using the Pionex Card for online purchases, verify that the merchant accepts Visa or Mastercard (matching your card's network). To view your card information:
APP
Step 1: Open the Pionex App and navigate to the [Wallet] → [Card] page.
Step 2: Click [Card Details] and select [Card Details] again.
Step 3: Complete the "Security Authentication", and you can see the card number, expiration date, and CVV code.
WEB
Step 1: Go to the Pionex website and click [Card] → [Personal Card] at the top of the page.
Step 2: On the card page, click [Card Details].
Step 3: Click the [Card Details] again.
Step 4: Complete the verification.
Step 5: You're able to see the card number, expiration date, and CVV code now.
Reminder: Keep your card information safe to avoid security risks.
When you input your card information during checkout, the system starts the Security Authentication process to ensure secure transactions. For details, please refer to: What is Security Authentication?
Offline Payments
Pionex physical cards are currently being rolled out in phases. If eligible, you can view details in the App or on the official website. Users can bind their Pionex Card to digital wallets for offline contactless payments. Pionex Card (both Visa and Mastercard) is currently issued only as a virtual card. As a result, contactless payment requires the card to first be successfully bound to a supported e-wallet (such as Apple Pay or Google Pay); once bound, it can be used at merchants that support contactless payment. Without a successful e-wallet binding, offline contactless payment is not possible.
Supported mainstream digital wallets include:
Apple Pay
Google Pay
Line Pay
Paypal
Alipay
Alipay HK
Wechat Pay
Notes & Compatibility Instructions:
Unsupported Wallets: Currently, Samsung Pay is not supported.
Regional Restrictions: Successful binding and usage depend on individual wallet providers' regional policies. Some wallet providers require the wallet account registration country/region to match the Pionex Card issuing country/region.
Unlisted Wallets: The list above highlights common mainstream wallets. Compatibility for other unlisted digital wallets is subject to actual binding test results.
Payment Scenarios: Once successfully bound, you can use your wallet at physical stores accepting contactless payments on your card's network (Visa or Mastercard, e.g., convenience stores, cafes, department stores), or pay directly using your physical Pionex Card. Contactless payment does not have its own separate per-transaction/daily/monthly limit — it uses the same overall spending limit set under "Limit Management" as any other payment method.
Refer to the Digital Wallet Setup Instructions for linking instructions.
Card Freeze & Unfreeze
If you suspect your card information has been compromised or misused, you can freeze the card immediately within the app:
APP
Step 1: Open the Pionex App and navigate to the [Wallet] → [Card] page.
Step 2: Tap [More] and select [Freeze] from the options.
Step 3: Select a freeze reason and click [Confirm].
WEB
Step 1: Go to the Pionex website and click [Card] → [Personal Card] at the top of the page.
Step 2: On the card page, click [Freeze].
Step 3: Select a freeze reason and click [OK].
Unfreeze
How you can unfreeze the card depends on how it was frozen:
You froze it yourself (self-service freeze): You can unfreeze the card yourself at any time in the app/website, by completing security verification.
Pionex Risk Control froze it (e.g., during a fraud/risk investigation): Self-service unfreezing is not available for this type of freeze. Please contact Pionex Customer Support.
What still works while the card is frozen
Freezing blocks the card from approving new outgoing payments, including pre-authorizations. Any incoming refund to the card will not be blocked. Transfers between your Primary account and Card account will also fail while the freeze is active — you'll need to unfreeze the card first before you can transfer funds in either direction.
Payment will fail automatically.
Primary account ↔ Card account transfers (in and out) will fail. You'll need to unfreeze the card first.
Refunds will not be blocked.
Pre-authorization for payments will fail.
Freezing does not stop a merchant's charges
Freezing takes effect immediately and the card will approve no new payment. It does not cancel anything you have already authorized with a merchant, so auto-renewals and system retries will keep arriving. Those attempts fail, but repeated rejects can still incur failure processing fees. To actually stop them, contact the merchant to cancel the subscription and remove the card binding — freezing, reissuing, or deleting the card will not do it.
Negative Card Balance & Withdrawal Restrictions
How a card balance turns negative: A negative balance almost always starts with a failed payment. The most common trigger is a merchant auto-requesting payment for a subscription or other recurring charge — if your Card account has an insufficient balance when that request comes through, the payment fails. Each failed-payment attempt can incur a failed payment processing fee, and when these fees add up (for example, across repeated retry attempts), they can push your card balance below zero. At that point you have a negative balance — in effect an outstanding balance, or shortfall, that you now owe on the card.
Warning: If your Pionex Card balance becomes negative — for example, because a merchant repeatedly attempted a recurring or subscription charge and the failed-payment fees pushed your balance below zero — crypto withdrawals on your Pionex account will be restricted until that debt is cleared.
To restore withdrawal access, you'll need to settle (repay) the negative balance: transfer funds into your Pionex Card account until the balance is positive again. If the balance is left overdue and unpaid, crypto withdrawals remain restricted — they are only lifted once the outstanding balance has been fully repaid.
Note: Pionex does not automatically repay this debt on your behalf. You will need to manually transfer funds from your Primary account into your Card account to bring the balance back to positive — see How to Transfer Funds Between Accounts for step-by-step instructions.
We strongly recommend contacting the merchant directly to cancel the unwanted subscription or recurring charge. This is the only way to stop future charge attempts — freezing, reissuing, or deleting the card will not do it (see Freezing does not stop a merchant's charges above).
If you are unable to get the merchant to cancel the charge, please:
Gather screenshots of all your communication attempts with the merchant (cancellation requests, emails, chat logs, etc.)
Contact Pionex Customer Support with these screenshots so we can assist further
How to Check Subscriptions and Recurring Charges on Your Card
Pionex Card does not currently offer a consolidated list of your bound subscriptions or a subscription-management page — there is no single screen that shows every merchant billing your card on a recurring basis.
To find out which merchant is charging your card repeatedly (for example, an app subscription like CapCut), check your Recent Transactions instead: go to Pionex App → Pionex Card → Recent Transactions, and tap into individual transactions to see the merchant name, amount, and time for each charge. Charges from the same merchant appearing at a regular interval (e.g., monthly) are your recurring subscriptions. See Pionex Card Transaction Records for the full steps.
Once you've identified the merchant, cancel the subscription directly with that merchant — freezing, reissuing, or deleting your Pionex Card will not cancel it (see "Freezing does not stop a merchant's charges" above). If the merchant keeps retrying a failed charge, the processing fees can push your card balance negative, which restricts crypto withdrawals until the balance is settled (see "Negative Card Balance & Withdrawal Restrictions" above).
Spending Limit Management
Visa Card users can adjust their own card spending limits; Mastercard currently does not support adjusting card spending limits.
APP
Step 1: Open the Pionex App and navigate to the [Wallet] → [Card] page.
Step 2: Tap [Card Limit]
Step 3: Adjust the limits as needed and click [Submit] to proceed.
WEB
Step 1: Go to the Pionex website and click [Card] → [Personal Card] at the top of the page.
Step 2: On the card page, tap [More] and select [Card Limit] from the options.
Step 3: Adjust the limits as needed and click [Submit] to proceed.

Restriction During Active Period: You cannot manually modify spending limits while a temporary increase is active.
Currently, MasterCard does not support this feature.
FAQ
Q: Why might a fund transfer fail?
A: Since it is treated as a withdrawal from the Pionex primary account, common issues include:
1. Funds being occupied (e.g., in open orders, Earn products, active bots)
2. Fiat deposit T+N restrictions
3. Account Safety and Compliance limitations
Q: What if I don't receive the SMS code for payment verification?
A: You can switch the payment security verification method to "In-app Authorization", and future verifications will be received as notifications in the app.
Q: How do I check if my Pionex Card has been successfully bound to a merchant?
A: You may follow the path below on your Pionex App to check on the binding status. Once approved, the card has been bound to the merchant.
APP: Pionex → More → Pionex Card → Digital Token
Q: What is the crypto supported in the Pionex Card?
A: The Pionex Card only accepts USDT transfer from the primary account balance.
Q: Does Pionex Card support receiving fiat currency, or is an IBAN available?
A: No. Pionex Card only deals with USDT — it does not support receiving fiat currency, and no IBAN number is available for the card.
Q: Can I withdraw crypto directly from my Pionex Card to an external wallet (on-chain withdrawal)?
A: No, the Pionex Card is not able to perform a direct on-chain withdrawal. If you wish to withdraw crypto from your Pionex Card, you'll need to first transfer the funds back to your Primary Account, then withdraw crypto from there using the normal withdrawal method.
Q: How long is my Pionex Card (Visa) valid for?
A: The Visa card is valid for approximately 5 years from issuance. The exact expiration date is shown on the physical/virtual card (Card Details page). Once it expires you will need a new card, which is requested through the card deletion and reapplication form — see How to Apply for Pionex Card Deletion. Reapplication is a separate request that is reviewed on its own and is not granted automatically.
Q: My card has expired — is that the same as my bank card expiring?
A: No, these are two different cards. The validity period above belongs to the Pionex Card itself. If the card that expired is your own bank card — the one you use to buy crypto on Pionex — then the Pionex Card's validity period does not apply to it: your issuing bank replaces that card, and you can buy crypto again with the new one. See FAQ about Buying Crypto with a Bank Card.
Note: A failed payment, or a payment that is successfully cancelled, may be described by the merchant, your bank, or the user in different ways — for example, "refunded to Pionex", "returned to Pionex", "withdrawn back to Pionex", or "payment revoked". These all refer to the same thing: a refund, as described below.
Q: If I cancel my order and get a refund after making a prepayment with my Pionex Card, will the refund amount affect my monthly or daily spending limit?
A: No. Once the refund is successful, the corresponding spending limit is restored and does not count against your daily or monthly limit.
Since refunds are processed by third parties such as the acquirer and issuing bank, whether the limit is restored while the refund is still in progress or only once it's fully completed depends on the actual refund process, and Pionex cannot guarantee a fixed timeframe. We recommend checking your real-time available limit in the Pionex Card app for the most accurate status.
Q: My refund shows in my transaction history, but it isn't in my available balance yet — why, and how long will it take?
A: Once the merchant initiates the refund and it's captured by our system, the refund will appear in your transaction history right away. At that point, the app will also show you an estimated clearing period for that refund.
Where to find the estimated clearing completion time: This is not shown on the individual transaction details page. Instead, you'll find it on the Card page, right underneath the card asset display — available on both the App and Web. Note: your app needs to be updated to the latest version to support this display feature.
It's worth noting that this clearing period is a separate step from the overall refund timeline. The up to 30 business days you may see referenced elsewhere is the time it can take for a refund to be initiated by the merchant and received by our system in the first place. The clearing period shown in your transaction history only starts once that refund has already been captured — it's the additional processing time needed before the amount is released into your available (spendable/transferable) balance.
At this stage, the clearing period generally ranges from 3 to 30 days, though in some cases it may take longer. Once clearing completes, the funds are automatically added to your available balance — no action is needed on your part.
Note: this is different from the temporary hold placed on a pending (pre-authorized) transaction — e.g., a hotel or car rental hold — which is released within 7 business days once the merchant finalizes the charge.
Q: Is a tax-free (VAT) refund from an agency like Global Blue or Planet Tax Free the same as an ordinary merchant order refund?
A: No, these are two different types of incoming payments. An ordinary merchant refund (for example, a cancelled order) is always returned to the original card you paid with, and follows the clearing period described above. A tax-free refund is a separate payout from a third-party tax-free agency — it does not need to go back to the card you originally used to pay, and is instead credited to whichever card you designated on the tax refund form (as long as the cardholder name matches your passport name). Tax-free refunds also typically follow the agency's own processing timeline (about 3-5 business days up to a few weeks) rather than the merchant refund clearing period above. See Can Pionex Card Be Used for Tax-Free (VAT) Refunds for details.
Q: Where can I find my Pionex Card (Visa Card)'s billing address?
A: Go to Pionex → Pionex Card → Card Details, complete verification, and your billing address will be shown along with the billing address, card number, expiry date, and CVV.
Q: Will the details of a refunded transaction appear on my monthly statement?
A: Yes, they will. You can view all transaction details, including refunds, by downloading your monthly statement through the app. Please note that Pionex Card transaction details are not included in the CSV transaction history export at this time.
APP: Wallet > Card > Visa > More > Monthly Statement > Select Month > Confirm
Q: Why unable to withdraw from ATM using my Pionex physical card?
A: If the ATM screen displays an error message such as "The associated bank does not support interbank withdrawal services", this is typically because the ATM machine you are using does not support cross-bank withdrawals for Visa international cards — this is not an issue with your card itself.
We recommend the following solution:
Please switch to a different ATM machine that displays the VISA logo and try again
Q: My physical card got stuck in an ATM after entering the wrong PIN multiple times. What should I do?
A: Please follow the steps below:
- Contact the bank or institution that owns the ATM directly, explain the situation, and request the return of your card. This must be handled by the local bank — if any cooperation is needed, please reach out to Pionex Customer Support.
- The ATM PIN lockout is a security mechanism enforced by the Visa network and the card issuer. If you need to unlock or reset your PIN, please contact Pionex Customer Support.
Q: Once I have received the Pionex Card, can I switch the card network (e.g., swapping between Visa and Mastercard)?
A: Once a user has received the Pionex Card, the platform does not support changing the card type or reissuing a card from a different network.
Q: My original Pionex Card has been deactivated and the platform has issued a new card. How do I select the new card when making payment? Do I need to delete the old card first?
A: After the old card is deactivated and a new card is obtained, the system will automatically debit the new card, and the user does not need to switch manually. The old card will no longer be usable after it is deactivated by the payment partner, and there is no need to apply for deletion. Merchant subscriptions that have been bound to the old card need to rebind the new card number on the merchant side.
Q: Is there a minimum amount I need to transfer into my card?
A: No. There is no minimum — you can transfer any amount of USDT from your Primary Account to your Card Account, including a small amount such as 1 USDT. (Note: if you have never made a transaction and your card balance is 0, viewing your full card number requires a balance of at least 10 USDT — this only affects viewing the card number, not adding funds or spending.)
Q: My Pionex Card is not activated, or has been closed, but there are still funds remaining in the Card account. How can I transfer these funds out?
A: Please refer to the following guide: How to Transfer Funds Between Accounts.
Q: Can I transfer my Pionex Card balance directly to another crypto card, an external wallet via on-chain withdrawal, or an external bank card? Can I use my Pionex Card as a receiving account?
A: No. The Pionex Card account can only be used for payments at merchants. Its balance cannot be directly transferred to another crypto card, withdrawn to an external wallet on-chain, or transferred to an external bank card. It also cannot be used as a receiving account. If you need to transfer funds out, please first transfer the balance back to your main account, then use the regular withdrawal or fiat withdrawal methods available through your main account.
Q: Does my Primary Account balance include the funds held in my Pionex Card?
A: No. The asset balance shown on your Primary Account does not include funds held in your Pionex Card. The total assets shown on the Pionex account overview page do include your Card balance.
Q: Why does my Pionex Card look green or have no Pionex logo?
A: This is normal, and it is still your genuine Pionex Card. Some Pionex Cards are issued through a card partner that does not support customizing the card face, so Pionex cannot change the card's color or add its own logo — the card is shown in the partner's standard design (for example a green card in Apple Pay or Google Pay). The appearance does not change anything about your card: the card number and details shown are your real card's, and your balance, cashback, and limits are unaffected. There is nothing wrong with your card and nothing you need to do.
Q: How do I view my linked subscription services in Pionex Card?
A: Pionex Card currently does not have a dedicated subscription management page or list. You can check each historical charge and corresponding merchant name in "Order History", or tap the clock icon in the top right to view transfers between your primary account and card account in "Transfer History".
Q: Why can't I see the "Issuing Country/Region" of my card on the App details page?
A: Currently, the App card details page does not support the display of "Issuing Country/Region" information. This is a intentional feature design of the current version rather than a system fault or card issue, and there is currently no release schedule for adding this field in future updates.
Q: What will happen to my Pionex Card if my Pionex account is deleted? If I re-register a new account later using the same phone number and email, will I need to apply for the Pionex Card again?
A: Currently, deleting your Pionex account does not automatically cancel your Pionex Card. If you later re-register a new account with the same phone number, email, or ID information and try to apply for a card again, the application may be blocked due to the system retaining your original card details. In the future, the platform will optimize this process to permanently close associated Pionex Cards upon account deletion.
