FAQ

Q: Can I use someone else's credit card to purchase cryptocurrency?

A: No. Fiat purchases are only permitted using a credit card that matches the name on your Pionex account's KYC verification.

Q: Can I use bank transfer instead of a credit card?

A: Pionex supports the bank transfer option for EUR and BRL currencies. Tutorial

Q: Why is my card deposit showing "Processing" and not completing?

A: There are two common reasons:

  1. Your card issuer declined the payment. - Please contact your bank directly for assistance. If your bank confirms the payment went through, request fiat transfer proof from them and share it with us. We will follow up with our third-party payment provider on your behalf.

  2. Our third-party service provider requires additional information. - They will contact you by email with further instructions. Please check your inbox.

Q: Why did my card deposit fail?

A: Payment failures are typically triggered on the bank's end. Please check the following:

  1. Card settings – Ensure that overseas transactions and online payments are enabled on your card.

  2. 3D Secure – Confirm that your card supports 3D Secure verification and has it enabled.

  3. Balance and limits – Make sure you have sufficient funds and that the transaction does not exceed your bank's per-transaction limit.

  4. Bank policy – Some banks may restrict cryptocurrency-related transactions. We recommend contacting your bank to authorise such payments.

  5. The third-party provider rejected the transaction, which may be due to age restrictions, a name mismatch, or exceeding purchase limits.

Q: If a deposit fails and a refund is issued, how long will it take?

A: Refunds involve multiple parties and processing times can vary. Once the refund is confirmed, please allow up to 14 business days to receive it. If you have not received the refund within that timeframe, please contact our customer support team.

Q: Why did I receive significantly less cryptocurrency than expected after my card purchase?

A: In addition to the third-party provider's processing fee and on-chain transfer fee, your card issuer may charge foreign exchange fees and cross-border transaction fees. These bank-side charges vary by issuer and cannot be estimated in advance by Pionex.

Q: What is the difference in fiat purchase limits between KYC Level 1 and KYC Level 2?

A: All fiat deposit and withdrawal services on Pionex require KYC Level 2 verification. Users with only KYC Level 1 are not eligible for fiat services. We recommend completing KYC Level 2, or using cryptocurrency deposits as an alternative.

Q: Can I enter non-Latin characters or Chinese in the billing address or name fields when purchasing crypto with a bank card?

A: No. The billing address, cardholder name, and other relevant fields must be entered using English/Latin characters. Chinese, other non-Latin characters, and special symbols are not supported. This information is used to verify the details against the records held by the card-issuing bank. Please ensure that the information you provide matches the records of your card issuer. Otherwise, the order cannot be successfully created.

Q: When I try to purchase via AlchemyPay, I receive an error message "Account at Risk". What should I do?

A: This restriction arises from our third-party service provider, AlchemyPay. To learn more about these restrictions, please feel free to contact them at: service@alchemypay.org.

We recommend you consider making cryptocurrency purchases through other third-party channels or try using a different bank card.

Q: My account with Alchemy Pay has been closed due to inactivity. Can I create a new account or use this channel again?

A: Alchemy Pay has recently begun closing accounts that have been bound to their channel but inactive for an extended period. If your Alchemy Pay account has been closed for this reason, you will not be able to recreate a new account or use Alchemy Pay to buy cryptocurrency with fiat.

You can submit a request to Pionex Customer Service to have your Alchemy Pay account reopened.

Q: How to check the T+N restriction time?

A: All buy crypto with fiat orders are subject to a T+1 withdrawal restriction by default, and the restriction can be more days if other rules apply. You can find your order history by following the steps below:

Q: I can't find my currency in the page, what should I do?

A: If your currency is not listed, we suggest you deposit via cryptocurrency.

Q: Can I use a credit card to purchase cryptocurrencies on Pionex?

A: Yes. Complete Pionex's KYC 2, and choose the cryptocurrency you want to buy in the Express section. You can then use Visa/Mastercard to purchase cryptocurrencies.

Q: Does Pionex charge a fee for buying cryptocurrency?

A: Pionex supports buying cryptocurrencies through multiple third-party channels. Pionex does not charge any buying fee. All fees are charged by the third-party channels based on the payment method. Users can choose the best offer based on the quoted rankings.

Q: How long will it take for the cryptocurrency I bought to be credited to my account?

A: The time it takes to credit your account can vary depending on the payment method. The quickest could be within a few minutes.

Q: How can I check if the cryptocurrency I bought has been credited to my account?

A: Pionex will send an email notification once the cryptocurrency has been credited to your account. You can also check the order status in "Orders - Buy Crypto Orders" in the navigation bar.

Q: Where can I find the merchant's website and contact email if I need to reach them directly?

A: After you choose a payment method from the third-party service provider, the order confirmation page displays that merchant's website and contact email. If you need these details, you can start placing a new order to view them on the confirmation page — you do not need to complete the order to see this information.

Q: My fiat deposit order shows “Processing.” Can I cancel it before the crypto is credited?

A: Pionex cannot directly cancel an order that has already been submitted to a third-party service provider (Banxa / Alchemy Pay / Simplex / Volet.com). If you wish to cancel the order, you may contact the relevant service provider directly to request a cancellation, or contact Pionex Support for assistance with submitting a cancellation request.

If the cancellation request is approved, the funds will be refunded to the original payment method. The refund typically takes 1–14 business days, and the actual processing time depends on the bank or financial institution.

Q: What should I do if I see the error message "Channel temporarily unavailable (60015)"?

A: This message indicates that the deposit channel you selected is currently under maintenance or temporarily unavailable. Please try switching to another available deposit channel, or select a different fiat currency deposit method on the platform to complete your deposit.

Q: My deposit was declined because of an age restriction — is this Pionex's policy? What should I do?
A: No — Pionex itself does not impose an age restriction on fiat deposits beyond requiring KYC Level 2. An age-related decline comes from the risk and compliance policies of the specific third-party payment provider (e.g. AlchemyPay, Banxa, Simplex, Volet.com) processing that transaction, and the exact criteria are set and applied by that provider — Pionex does not have visibility into their specific rules and cannot override them. If this happens, you can try a different available fiat channel or card, or use a cryptocurrency deposit instead, which is not subject to this restriction.

Q: Why is the price I'm quoted higher than the market exchange rate?

A: When you buy crypto with a bank card, the price on the purchase page is quoted by the third-party payment provider, not set by Pionex. The provider's quote may include its processing fee, its exchange-rate spread and the on-chain transfer fee, so it usually differs from the market rate shown on currency converters or exchange-rate websites. Pionex does not charge any buying fee.

To get a better price, compare the quotes from the different providers on the purchase page and choose the one that suits you. The amount shown is for reference only, so confirm the final amount on the provider's payment page before you pay. Your card issuer may also charge foreign exchange or cross-border fees.
