With the Futures Moon Bot strategy, investors can earn from market volatility by buying low and selling high, or selling high and buying low. This strategy allows investors to keep up with market fluctuations and generate profits.

What is the traditional Moon Bot?

The Moon Bot is an innovative trading strategy developed by Pionex, famous for its unique ultra-wide arbitrage range and stable arbitrage capabilities. It is one of the most popular trading strategies in the crypto market.

What are the differences between Futures Moon and the traditional Moon Bot?

Both bots can work 24/7, making profits for you nonstop by capturing every arbitrage opportunity in market fluctuations. However, compared to the traditional Moon Bot, Futures Moon has been upgraded in the following features:

  • 0 Trading Fees: There are no opening or closing fees, preventing losses from the beginning.

  • Higher Arbitrage Profits: Your arbitrage profit will increase significantly as ZERO FEE will be applied to all your transactions.

  • Ultra-High Frequency Arbitrage: With an ultra-wide range supplemented by dense grids, the Futures Moon captures every slight market fluctuation, achieving over 200 daily arbitrage trades.

  • Lower Minimum Investment: Only 500 USDT is needed to start a Bitcoin Futures Moon, and 150 USDT for an Ethereum Futures Moon.

  • Auto Upward Moving: The working range automatically moves up along with the price to follow the upward trend.

Who is the Futures Moon Bot for?

A good fit if you:

  • Are long-term bullish on a major coin (BTC/ETH) and want to keep arbitraging wide swings without setting or constantly adjusting a price range — Moon runs on an ultra-wide range that auto-shifts (upward for longs), so you don't have to move the range yourself.

  • Expect frequent, high-volatility chop — ultra-dense grids over an ultra-wide range can complete 200+ arbitrage trades a day; the more it swings, the more opportunities it captures.

  • Are comfortable using leverage to amplify arbitrage and can accept futures liquidation risk — default 5x, up to 30x; the minimum to start is 500 USDT for BTC and 150 USDT for ETH.

Less suitable if you:

  • Want to bet on a big one-directional move and maximize trend profit — manual futures usually outperforms in a strong trend (Moon takes profit in parts on the way up, so it captures less of a straight rally).

  • Can't accept any leverage / liquidation risk — consider the spot Moon (BTC & ETH Moon; no leverage, no liquidation) or a Spot Grid.

Risk & fee notes:

  • The Futures Moon uses leverage; a sharp one-directional move can still trigger liquidation, so size your leverage and investment to your own risk tolerance.

  • A 20% management fee is charged only on your profits — nothing is charged when there's no profit.

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between the Futures Moon and the Futures Grid Bot?

  • Ultra-Dense Grids: The Future's Moon starts with an ultra-wide arbitrage range featuring extremely dense orders (approximately 0.1% profit per grid before fees), allowing for over 200 arbitrage opportunities per day, so you won’t miss any profit opportunities from market fluctuations.

  • Higher Capital Utilization: The Futures Moon effectively increases the utilization rate of your funds by automatically shifting the grid upwards. The grid will move upwards along with market price growth, continuously tracking price trends to keep earning profits for you.

Q: Why does the Futures Moon charge 20% of profits as management fees?

To provide you with a superior investment experience, Pionex introduced the fee-free Futures Moon Bot. This strategy significantly increases the number of daily arbitrages while boosting the single arbitrage profit to 1.6 times that of a regular Futures Grid with the same parameters.

For example, with BTC, assuming each grid trades 0.1 BTC, with a buy order price of $100,000 and a sell order price of $100,100:

  • The arbitrage profit for a regular contract grid = Sell order value – Buy order value – Buy order fees – Sell order fees ≈ 100,100 * 0.1 – 100,000 * 0.1 – 0.02% * 0.1 * (100,000 + 100,100) = 10 – 4.002 ≈ $5.998

  • The arbitrage profit for the Futures Moon = Sell order value – Buy order value = 100,100 * 0.1 – 100,000 * 0.1 = $10

Pionex charges 20% of your final profits as a management fee to better provide you with fee-free arbitrage and price-tracking services. We only charge when you profit from the product. This approach ensures that we are all aiming for maximum investment returns together. We hope to partner with you to achieve higher investment returns.

Q: Does the Futures Moon Bot support automatic trailing of the price range in the downward direction for a long position?

No. For a long-direction Futures Moon Bot, only upward trailing is supported. As the market price rises, the bot's price range will trail upward accordingly; however, downward trailing is intentionally disabled.

This restriction exists to protect your position: allowing the price range to shift downward on a long would expose your capital to greater drawdown risk and increase the likelihood of liquidation.

The reverse applies to short-direction bots — only downward trailing is permitted, and upward trailing is disabled for the same reason.

Q: What is the maximum leverage for the Futures Moon Bot?

A: The Futures Moon Bot supports a maximum leverage of 30x. 5x is the default — tap the leverage button when creating the bot to adjust it, up to the 30x maximum.

Q: Why does my Futures Moon say "The current price is higher than the upper limit. The robot has paused arbitrage." when the price still looks within the Arbitrage range?

The notice compares the Last price with your bot's current working upper limit. On a Long Futures Moon, the upper value shown in "Arbitrage range" is the highest level the range can move up to, not the current working upper limit. So the Last price can be below that value and still be above the working upper limit.

Arbitrage resumes automatically, with no action needed, as soon as either of these happens:

  • The price moves back into the working range.

  • The working range moves up to the price. The range moves based on the moving average rather than the live price, so after a quick rally this can take a while, and it moves up in steps.

Once the range reaches the highest level shown in "Arbitrage range", it stops moving up. If the price stays above that level, arbitrage resumes only after the price falls back below it.

While the notice is shown, your bot is still running; this is not the same as pausing the bot. Your position and existing orders stay as they are, no new grid trades are filled while the price is outside the working range, and funding fees are settled on your open position as usual.

A Short Futures Moon works in reverse: the notice refers to the lower limit, the lower value shown in "Arbitrage range" is the lowest level the range can move down to, and the range moves down instead of up.

The price range and leverage of a Futures Moon can't be edited. If you'd like a different range, the only way is to stop this bot (which closes its position) and create a new one.
