Total Assets Breakdown
Total Assets = Primary Account + Payment Account + Card Account + Futures Account
Account | Purpose |
Primary Account | The platform's core funding account — covers spot holdings, trading bots, Earn/Arbitrage products, and platform bonuses. Supports most platform functions. |
Payment Account | Dedicated to Visa card spending and QR code payments. Spending amounts are deducted from this account. |
Card Account | Dedicated to Mastercard card spending. Spending amounts are deducted from this account. |
Futures Account | Dedicated to manual futures trading (Isolated & Cross Margin). |
If your total assets don't match what you expect, it's usually because funds are distributed across these accounts rather than missing. Check the balance of each of the four accounts individually.
Fund Transfer Rules Between Accounts
Direct transfers between the Primary Account, Payment Account, and Card Account are unrestricted, and internal transfers/top-ups between Pionex accounts are completely free. No fees are charged for any transfers or top-ups among these accounts (Primary Account, Payment Account, Card Account, and Futures Account).
The Futures Account can only be transferred to and from the Primary Account — it cannot be transferred directly to or from the Payment Account or Card Account. To move funds between the Futures Account and either card account, transfer to the Primary Account first, then transfer from there to the destination account.
Security verification: Security verification is only required when funds are transferred from the Primary Account into the Payment Account or Card Account — this is treated as a withdrawal. All other transfer directions — including between the Primary Account and Futures Account, and between the Card Account and Payment Account — are not treated as withdrawals and do not require security verification.
FAQ
Q: My total assets are lower than expected. Where did my funds go?
A: Check the balance of each of the four accounts individually. Funds may be sitting in the Payment Account or Card Account, allocated to an active trading bot or Earn product, or held in the Futures Account.
Q: Do the Visa and Mastercard balances share the same funds? How do I transfer between them?
A: No, they don't share funds. Visa spending is deducted from the Payment Account, while Mastercard spending is deducted from the Card Account — these are two independent fund accounts. However, you can transfer directly between the Payment Account and the Card Account without routing back through the Primary Account first; this is not a withdrawal and does not require security verification.
On the app, this can be done from the "Wallet" page. On the web, go to the "Wallet" page and select "Transfer," choose the Payment Account and Card Account as the transfer-out and transfer-in accounts (or vice versa), select the currency, enter the amount, and confirm to complete the transfer.
Q: What does "card balance" or "Card Account balance" mean?
A: "Card balance" usually refers to the available balance in either the Payment Account (Visa) or the Card Account (Mastercard), depending on which card you hold.
Q: Can I transfer funds directly from the Futures Account to the Card Account?
A: No. You'll need to transfer from the Futures Account to the Primary Account first, then from the Primary Account to the Card Account.
Q: Does the Futures Account count toward my total assets?
A: Yes. Futures Account equity is included as part of your total assets.
Q: Are the Primary Account, Card Account, Payment Account, and Futures Account "sub-accounts"?
A: Pionex currently does not support a "sub-account" feature. These simply refer to divisions within the wallet.
Q: Is there a fee to transfer funds between accounts (e.g., from Card Account back to Primary Account)?
A: No. Transfers between your Primary, Payment, Card, and Futures accounts are always free — Pionex does not charge any fee for internal transfers.
Q: Is there a fee for transferring/top-up funds from the Primary Account to Pionex Card (Payment Account or Card Account)?
A: No, it is completely free. Internal transfers and top-ups between all Pionex accounts (Primary Account, Payment Account, Card Account, Futures Account) do not incur any transaction fees.
Q: Are USDT and USD the same thing?
A: No. USD is a fiat currency issued by the U.S. government, whereas USDT is a cryptocurrency (stablecoin) issued by the company Tether. Although its value is pegged to the U.S. dollar (at a 1:1 ratio), it operates on a blockchain and is a digital asset issued by a private company.
