How to Use Smart Market Orders

Defines Smart Market orders, how to place them, and AI slippage protection, plus speed/precision differences vs. Limit orders and restrictions on low-liquidity pairs.

What Is a Smart Market Order

"Market" orders in manual spot and futures trading are now all "Smart Market" orders — an upgrade that merges the original regular market order with "One-Click Buy/Sell." The goal is to fill as quickly as possible while using AI slippage protection to keep the execution price closer to what you'd expect, avoiding the larger price deviations a regular market order can suffer when liquidity is low.

How to Use a Smart Market Order

  1. On the spot or futures trading page, select "Smart Market" to place your order.

  2. "AI Slippage" is checked by default, and the system automatically matches the optimal slippage threshold for current market conditions — we recommend keeping it checked. If you'd rather control the execution price range yourself, uncheck it and set the slippage threshold manually.

  3. Enter the quantity/amount (or tap a quick percentage button), review the order, and submit it.

What's the Difference Between Smart Market and Limit Orders

  • Smart Market: You don't set a price yourself. The goal is to fill as quickly as possible, with "slippage" (matched automatically by AI by default) controlling how far the price can deviate — but you can't specify the exact execution price.

  • Limit: You set your desired price yourself, and the order sits in the order book waiting — it won't fill until the market reaches that price. This lets you control the price precisely, but doesn't guarantee an immediate fill (if your set price is already better than the current market price, it fills immediately, similar to a market order).

  • In short: choose Smart Market for speed, and Limit for precision.

Notes on Using Smart Market Orders

  • Smart Market orders may be restricted for some trading pairs with lower liquidity.

  • The system remembers your previous "AI Slippage" checkbox state and percentage selection — double-check these before placing an order to avoid mistakes.
