Why Do You Need the Rebalancing Bot?
If you are bullish on multiple coins or sectors and are willing to hold long-term for capital appreciation, the Rebalancing Bot is a great choice.
What Is the Rebalancing Bot's Trading Strategy?
Suppose you have 100 USDT and set up the Rebalancing Bot with 50% BTC and 50% ETH. The bot will buy 50 USDT worth of BTC and 50 USDT worth of ETH according to the set ratio, then automatically maintain the position ratio based on your chosen rebalancing method.
Using the Threshold mode as an example: with a trigger threshold of 4 percentage points, if BTC rises from 50 USDT to 60 USDT while ETH remains unchanged, BTC's actual allocation drifts from 50% to about 54.5% of the portfolio (110 USDT total) — a swing of 4.5 percentage points, which exceeds the 4% threshold and triggers a rebalance. The bot will automatically sell 5 USDT worth of BTC and buy 5 USDT worth of ETH to restore the 50:50 ratio — resulting in BTC at 55 USDT and ETH at 55 USDT.
Compared to simply holding without trading, the Rebalancing Bot's advantage lies in automatically capitalizing on exchange rate fluctuations between coins to accumulate more tokens over the long term.
How to Start the Rebalancing Bot?
Starting the Rebalancing Bot is straightforward with minimal parameters to configure. Simply select your coins, set the corresponding allocation ratios, and invest your funds.
The minimum investment is 20 USDT. The Rebalancing Bot requires at least two coins, with a minimum of 10 USDT per coin — so your total minimum investment is: number of coins × 10 USDT. Up to 20 coins can run simultaneously.
App
Step 1: Open the Pionex App, and tap "Bot" at the bottom of the screen.
Step 2: Tap "Create" in the top left corner → "Spot" → tap "Rebalancing Bot" under the Most Popular section.
Step 3: On the Rebalancing Bot page, you can browse the "Index Square" to find a strategy you want to copy-trade, then tap "Copy Trade" to follow your preferred strategy.
You can also select "Manual Setup" to manually choose coins, set trigger prices, and configure allocation ratios to create your own Rebalancing Bot.
In the advanced settings at the bottom of the manual setup page, several additional parameters are available:
Trigger Price: You can set a trigger price for one or more coins individually. The Rebalancing Bot will be created and start running once any coin reaches its trigger price.
Automatic Rebalancing: Tap this to open the Automatic Rebalancing menu, where you choose one of four options: Close (disable rebalancing — the bot holds your coins without trading), Momentum Rebalancing, Periodic, or Threshold. See "Automatic Rebalancing Modes" below for how each of the three active modes works.
Rebalancing Bot Auto Rebalance Modes
Mode 1: Momentum Rotation
At fixed time intervals, the system ranks all coins by their price performance during the current cycle and automatically concentrates the full position into the best-performing coin.
How It Works
At each rebalancing interval, the system will:
Rank all coins in the portfolio by price change
Buy the top-ranked coin with the full allocation
Re-rank at the next interval — if the top coin changes, it sells and rotates
Example: 4-hour rotation cycle with PEPE, SHIB, DOGE, AR, and USDT in the pool
Initial | Rank | Round 1 (4h) | Round 2 (8h) | Round 3 (12h) |
PEPE 0% | 1st | PEPE 100% | DOGE 100% | SHIB 100% |
SHIB 0% | 2nd | DOGE 0% | PEPE 0% | AR 0% |
DOGE 0% | 3rd | AR 0% | AR 0% | PEPE 0% |
AR 0% | 4th | SHIB 0% | SHIB 0% | DOGE 0% |
USDT 100% | 5th | USDT 0% | USDT 0% | USDT 0% |
Mode 2: Scheduled Rebalance
At fixed time intervals, the bot restores each coin's position back to your target allocation ratio.
Best For
Maintaining a fixed long-term asset allocation (e.g., BTC 50%, ETH 30%, USDT 20%)
Automatically selling overperforming coins and buying underperforming ones after market fluctuations cause drift
Mode 3: Percentage Change
The bot triggers a rebalance only when any coin's position drifts beyond your set threshold from its target ratio.
Best For
Investors who prefer minimal trading, intervening only when allocations are significantly off-balance
Reducing unnecessary trades during periods of low market volatility
